Order of Operations (BIDMAS) - Level 1 Functional Skills Maths

This resource has been designed for students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications at Level 1 (Edexcel-Pearson, NCFE, City and Guilds, AQA, Highfield Qualifications, NOCN and Open Awards). It contains an age-appropriate, 70-slide PowerPoint lesson and a 32-page workbook on Outcome 7: follow the order of precedence of operators the order of operations.

The 32-page workbook contains 13 explanation pages, 16 worksheets, 2 progress checks and a certificate of achievement. Powerpoint Lesson

The editable PowerPoint lesson explains the order of operations using the acronym BIDMAS. It contains many opportunities for pupils to practice the skill of calculating equations containing multiple operations. It also contains real life problems that require students to use the correct order of operations to solve them. It is an ideal resource for introducing the order of operations component of the specification and for revision purposes.
