Othello lesson on Brabantio, Iago, Roderigo and the use of language in Act 1 Scene 1, as well as exploring Elizabethan historical context, the patriarchal society, marriage and fatherhood during this time.
We focus on Shakespeare’s use of language as Iago and Roderigo exaggerate Othello’s secret marriage to Desdemona using imagery and the connotations these images convey. Includes differentiated activities, worksheets, extensive teacher and student notes and more.
