Paper 2, Question 5: Gaming & Crime

This lesson provides students with the opportunity to complete an assessment for Paper 2, Question 5. Students are required to take part in a class discussion on the correlation between violent video games and violent crime.

A link to The Day is included where an article on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 can be accessed. This lesson is flexible and can be easily changed for the use of a different article.

Learning Outcomes:

• Recap the Paper 2, Question 3 criteria.
• Write a clear and consistent response to Paper 2, Question 5.

Awarding Organisation Criteria:

• AO5: Communicate clearly, effectively and imaginatively, selecting and adapting tone, style and register for different forms, purposes and audiences.
• AO6: Candidates must use a range of vocabulary and sentence structures for clarity, purposes and effect, with accurate spelling and punctuation.
