PHASE 3 HFW GAMES
Game pack for teaching the 24 phase 3 high frequency words (decodable and tricky words). Simply laminate, cut out and have fun! The resources have a bright spring/summer design.

Included in the pack are:

Word cards - each phase 3 high frequency word comes in 2 different colours and black & white – use for whole class/group/independent activities. You could play a bingo or pairs game.

High frequency word board game – place playing pieces on start, take turns to roll a die and make your way around the board, saying the words as you go! Who will be first to reach the flowers? Each of the high frequency words appears twice in the game.

I spy game - search for and read tiny words in the spring picture, using a magnifying glass.

Roll and read game (roll the die and read the words in the matching column). Each of the high frequency words appears twice in the game.

Word spinners –Spin the spinner and read the word.

Countdown game – set a timer - how many words can the children read in 1 minute? Each of the high frequency words appears twice in the game.

High frequency word race game –4 player game: laminate the board. Place a playing piece on each ‘START’ position. Take turns to roll the die & say the word you land on. Who will reach the end first? Each of the high frequency words appears twice in the game.

PHASE 4 HFW GAMES
Teach the 20 phase 4 ‘Letters and Sounds’ high frequency words. Simply laminate, cut out and have fun!

Included are:

High Frequency word cards (in colour and B+W) – for each word – use for whole class/group/independent activities. You could print 2 copies and play a pairs game.

Sandcastle Sprint board game (in colour and B+W), instructions, playing pieces & die – make your way around the board, saying the words as you go! Who will be first to reach the sandcastle?

Words, Waves & Other Things game (in colour and B+W) - search for and read tiny sight words in the beach picture, using a magnifying glass. Children could make a list of the words which they find and compete to find the most!

Roll and read game (in colour and B+W) - roll the die and read the words in the matching column.
