This is a 3 lesson revision block I used with my Year 6 children to lead them through spotting a phrase or a clause in a sentence. The lessons focus on 3 main areas:

  1. Identifying verbs
  2. Identifying subjects and verbs [therefore spotting clauses]
  3. Identifying phrases [therefore telling the difference between clauses and phrases]

There is a very detailed powerpoint which leads you through the lessons and there are mini activities for the children to complete on the presentation. I have written the worksheets myself, based on the style of SATs questions the children may face. I have also based the worksheets on Harry Potter, which my class loved. :-)
