This Psycho Movie Guide (R - 1960) challenges students to explore complex themes of guilt, identity, and illusion. Discuss Norman’s psychological profile and his conflicted relationship with his mother. Examine how the characters’ perceptions of reality are manipulated by Norman’s dual persona, and his dissociative identity disorder (DID). Analyze Hitchcock’s filming technique in the shower scene, and the final haunting image of Norman’s face merging with his mother’s skull.
