This unit is a series of six lessons and all resources for the UC Salvation Unit “Why does Easter matter to Christians?” These lessons are based on UC CORE LEARNING planning. The DIGGING DEEPER unit is also available to buy on TES.
Each lesson starts with a sticky knowledge retrieval quiz and vocabulary activity.
Activities include spring walk; Easter story trail; Easter pass the parcel; oil pastel cross template activity with happy and sad moments of the Easter story ; matching emotions to parts of the Easter story; discussion on events and traditions on Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday; papier mache egg decorating activity; miming activity based on Easter story; What does Heaven look like? task; readings of Heaven by Nicholas Allen and Waterbugs and Dragonflies by Doris Stickney with a discussion based on ideas of life after death; and a mindmap based on the big question Why does Easter matter to Christians?
Lessons include videos, group/partner discussion, group tasks, individual tasks and making links to children’s own lives. All resources are included, and there is a printing requirement list for the whole unit. Please note - the SMART and PowerPoint contain the same content, but you need Notebook software to open SMART.
