A lesson on using reverse percentages to find the original price ect. The lesson recaps using the multiplier for percentage increase, decrease and also for compound and simple interest. The lesson uses a wide range of scenarios such as money, population ect to ensure pupils can develop the skill. It has multi step problems and problem solving questions to really challenge the more able pupils.
All tasks are differentiated, 2-4 levels for each task to make it accessible to all pupils but also to stretch the more able. All tasks have full solutions to it is easy to peer and self assess during the lesson. The lesson includes reasoning and problem solving tasks which ensure that this is suitable for the 9-1 GCSE curriculum. I have used this lesson and pupils were engaged yet challenged.
