I've designed this lesson to build up students knowledge of rounding to decimal places .
It begins with a stopwatch starter where students need to to answer 4 questions based around rounding to the nearest whole, ten and hundred.

This is then followed by a class discussion and definition of what rounding is and why we might round.
Leading into the main part of the lesson.

Rounding to 1 decimal place
- 3 examples
- Code breaker activity where students have to round the numbers and equate these to a letter in the key. It makes a maths joke.

Rounding to 2 decimal places
- 3 examples
- Multiple choice mini whiteboard quiz (6 questions)

This then leads into an exercise including 15 questions which get progressively harder.
- 5 x 1 decimal place
- 5 x 2 decimal place
- 5 x 3 decimal place

The resource then in includes a differentiated focused activity which progressively gets harder. This gives students a chance to master and enhance their skills. It includes 3 separate sections a skill 1& 2 and a stretch 1. These are all displayed on the same slide for ease of use.

Then to finish there is an application on how this could be seen in an exam situation with 2 exam style questions including answers.
I hope you find this resource as useful as my students have. Any of the the slides could be printed as worksheets if you feel that would be easier for your class.
