Reflective Commentary
My text is a leaflet and my objective is to promote reading as an exciting hobby for teenagers in my locality. In have achieved this purpose by explaining the benefits of reading and using several linguistic and structural features such as colloquial language, imperatives and exclamatory sentences that would appeal to my audience and also make for a quick and easy read.

I start leaflet with the heading ‘Hobby Time!’ as this leaflet is one in a series of leaflet about hobbies. I follow this with the sub-heading ‘Reading’ to signal to my reader that this edition of the leaflet will focus on reading as a hobby.

In terms of structure, I have started with an introduction where I establish my overall point of view that reading is “enchanting and exciting” and has many benefits and then move on to the different sections where I elaborate on each benefit. This structure is followed so that the reader has a quick overwiw of the content from the introduction and knows what to expect in the rest of the leaflet.
