This hand-drawn illustration of the Sand Cat is a great way to stir interest within children for endangered animals. Colouring in is a symbolic way to give endangered species significance and worth. Children will naturally be curious to find out more, or this sheet could form part of a project to learn why this animal is declining in the wild?

Sand Cats are found in the North African and Middle Eastern deserts, where the roam across the desert mostly at night using their fur as camouflage. Sadly their habitat is being lost and they are hunted both for their furs, as well as for sport, hence their near threatened status.

Colouring is a perfect means of relaxation, as well as a great tool for teaching colour, texture and of course, imagination.
