The scheme hits the ground running with reading the text. It is an accessible text, yet explores complex ideas around grief, truth and healing. We work on analysing character, setting and plot, focusing on pupils’ own feelings, reactions and experiences. The scheme includes a mid unit assessment and an end of unit assessment, and feedback activities for both assessments. This scheme is designed for KS3 and can be used on a range of abilities, with activities being adapted or ommited for different levels.
