SEN ‘Me in the World’ Unit

A 6 week unit including planning and differentiated Widgit (Communicate in Print) resources. Work is differentiated for a wide range of children to access - I am currently teaching children working at mainstream Y1 - Y5.

Unit of work includes:

  • To identify and name what charity is.
  • To identify charities and the work they do.
  • To name groups that benefit from charities.
  • To list ways I can support those in need aside from charity work.
  • To communicate why people may need charitable support.
  • To communicate consequences of racial / phobic or negative attitudes.

Each lesson starts with a practical/verbal task and then a written task which can be completed with an adult, as a group or independently depending on the needs within your class.
