This is a whole unit of lessons to teach the Situation Ethics unit of the OCR Religious Studies A-level. It would likely be appropriate for other exam boards also.

This resources includes lesson powerpoints for the whole unit, an accompanying student booklet which follows the powerpoint exactly, a knowledge test and further information sheets to support learning activities. It is all ready to teach and supports independent, student-led learning.

This covers Fletcher’s situation ethics, the use of agape, the six propositions, four working principles and Fletcher’s understanding of the conscience. It encourages students to evaluative whether situation ethics is helpful in moral decision making; whether agape can be useful in making moral judgements; whether situation ethics actually is a Christian ethics; and if a relative approach is more beneficial than an absolutist approach to ethics.

A complete unit of work, ready to teach!
