This checklist resource for sketchbooks helps students to to organise their ideas whilst ensuring that they cover every element within the art curriculum. It can enhance creativity and help them to use their sketchbooks effectively.
This resource was devised primarily for GCSE Art students, however I introduced it to year groups 7,8 and 9 and it received positve feedback from students and parents as it identifies clearly all the areas they will develop throughout their art lessons, regardless of if they choses to continue to GCSE studies.
It can be printed and stuck into the front of the sketchbooks, the tasks do not need to be completed in order, so there is no need for planning to use it. For each project the students work on, they are able to check off accomplishments. It can also be used to support independent study and homework tasks.
