Often when solving equations students want to number crunch. This game puts the focus on balancing 2 sides of an equation. It encourages students to work with algebra in a fun and interactive way.
The file is in pdf format making it easy to open on any device. A colour versions and a black / white version are available allowing you to copy the game in a way that suits you. A instructions page is included to explain to students how the game works.
Why not laminate this sheet and use whiteboard markers? You could reuse this task again and again!
INFORMATION
AIM
To gain four squares in a row on the grid. This can be in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line.
TO PLAY
Players choose either ‘X’ or ‘O’
Students choose one option from the list at the top of the page. They then look for the corresponding square in the grid that matches up to their choice.
If the get it correct they gain that square. However, if they get in wrong their opponent gets the square.
BEWARE
Not every square has a match. You must think before you guess and make sure there is a match.
If you pick and there is no match you will lose your turn!
