Sonnet Study Pack

This has been designed as an independent, yet guided, project for the end of Year 12 - or at any time you think appropriate. I have done it as part of our Eduqas A Level English Literature Component 3 - Unseen Poetry studies but it would be equally useful at KS4, or as a stand-alone unit to increase students’ knowledge and confidence. The booklet has plenty of independent research topics around the sonnet form from its Petrarchan roots up to the C21st.
The accompanying PowerPoint has carefully annotated copies of each poem which can be used at the end of each session to support the students’ own work.
Self-contained and focused on personal response rather than to any particular marking criteria. An excellent wider reading project which will provide in-depth knowledge of the sonnet form and its variations throughout time.
