This class assembly is all about Space. It discusses the Sun and the 8 planets within, then moves on to the earth and its rotation and orbit of the sun. It talks about Constellations and ends with a dramatic entrance from a spacecraft with a ‘mini’ Neil Armstrong emerging and discuss about the 1st landing on the moon. You would need to build a make-shift space craft for a child to fit into. We used 4 large bit of card-board and stuck tin foil all around it and made an American flag. The children loved it. We also found a kid’s spacesuit for our mini Neil Armstrong. You will also need the Sun and Planets blow ups, easily and cheaply purchased from Amazon. It doesn’t come with a Space song, but again songs with lyrics are easily found through a simple youtube search.

A couple of mistakes we have spotted. The script states 'Neptune has 8 moons – 8 small ones and a large moon called Triton.' ??? It has 14 known moons. Also says 'Jupiter has 16 moons' when Jupiter has 80 moons. Otherwise good as a basis for your own assembly to save time!
