Spanish Family Matching Squares 2 Puzzles - 9 Square Basic Words - Students assemble a 3 x 3 bilingual Spanish/English vocabulary puzzle with basic family words. There are 14 different words used in the puzzle. Words used are madre, padre, hermano, hermana, tío, tía, abuelo, abuela, bebé, mamá, papá, primo, prima, and familia. The 2 designs include 1 with no repeated words and no words on the outside border, and 1 with repeated words and words on the outside border for a more challenging puzzle. Just photocopy enough for a class set (1 for every 2 students if working in pairs, or 1 per student if working alone), cut and fasten with a paper clip. Distribute to students and challenge them to reassemble the puzzles as quickly as possible. All words are listed twice alongside the puzzle in Spanish and English. This list is helpful when students are assembling the puzzles and also makes a good review list or bookmark.
