Building on previous session, children make a model of a street near the school (or from imagination). Class is split in two – one group make a ‘then’ model and one a ‘now’ model – using junk modelling techniques. Display along with leaflets previously made.

A nice project for children to undertake as part of local history. I personally would tend to avoid them using their imagination on this unless you had three groups and the third did what they thought it would be like in the future. I'm not sure how readily itsa bitsa clips might be but it used to be interesting how they had to make things from the cupboard/box number they chose. Maybe theres a good clip online? Thanks for sharing.
