Subtraction Math Mystery Activity – Case of The Dream Snatcher (GRADE 2 US Common Core Aligned) – your students will be practicing and reviewing subtraction skills (numbers within 1,000) to solve this nightmare of a mystery! No Prep required, this fun and engaging math activity will motivate your students during math class.

The Dream Snatcher is stealing sweet dreams and using them to make horrible nightmares! The people of Mathhattan are counting on a brilliant math detective to discover where the Dream Snatcher is hiding, so that Tabitha the Witch can stop her and the nightmares!

There are 5 clues to crack to solve the mystery:

Clue 1: Subtraction within 20
Clue 2: Subtracting 1-digit numbers from 2-digit numbers (no regrouping)
Clue 3: Subtraction Word Problems (within 20 only)
Clue 4: Subtraction Input/Output Tables (within 100),
Clue 5: Subtraction within 100 (Regrouping required in the second and third row of questions. Mix of 1-digit from 2-digit numbers, and 2-digit from 2-digit numbers.
