Looking for easy-prep phonics games to roll and read CVC words this summer? Get your reception students excited about reading VC , CCVC, CVCC and CCVCC words with these differentiated beach-themed fun activities. They will use their early reading skills to practice decoding, blending and reading and become more fluent and confident in these key early literacy skills.
The resources are easy to use and great for independent activities as part of a phonics lesson or as an adult-led activity where you can assess and teach early reading strategies, sounds and letters. They are great opportunities to talk about grapheme-phoneme correspondences and blending sounds to read whole words.
Differentiation is easy as there are 6 different games with increasingly more sounds and letters (please see below). With the cute beach clipart, which is also suitable for other times of the year, the games make reading CVC words in the summer fun.
The activities are perfect for lessons, extra practice, early finishers, fun homework, centres, substitute teaching and Home Education.
