Looking for summer multiplication fun games for year 2 to 4 students? Are your students working on their times tables and you are looking for some fun ways to practice these to increase their speed and confidence in working out and recalling multiplication facts? Your students will be engaged in these Roll and Work out activities as they practice their multiplication fact fluency, which are essential mathematical skills.
The games will help to memorize and recall maths facts easily and quickly. Multiplying will be something they will find fun to do as they find the most summer ice creams. The cute clip art will help them stay focused on the activity.
The games are for students to play in pairs. Use them as part of a multiplication lesson to practice these skills or a stand-alone activity for students who need extra practice with multiplying and prefer to play games rather than do lots of maths sheets. Checking that their friends have got the correct answer means that they have instant feedback
Provide manipulatives such as Numicon, counters or Dienes or a number line to support learning, or encourage students to use their mental maths strategies to work out and find the answers. They can also use times tables grids or posters to help them find or check answers.
Differentiation is easy by using more or less challenging times tables games. Use the summer games to multiply by 6, 7, 9, 11 and 12 times tables as well for more difficult games.
Here is what you will get:- Multiplication Games for 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 times tables
- 1 - 6 Dice/ die (or use normal 1 - 6 dice)
- 1 - 6 spinners
- 2 - 12 spinners (with this spinner the game is all about multiplication rather than adding and then multiplying)
- Instructions for the games
This game is perfect for homework and home education. Students can play them with their parents, siblings and friends to show and discuss how they work out the answers.
The games are ideal for maths centres when you have to find activities quickly for those times when something unpredicted happens – e.g. wet playtime or supply lessons - or when children want to choose fun educational games to play with their friends - some call this Golden time.
This is a perfect resource to have ready for early finishers or to play as part of a lesson in pairs practicing adding and multiplying and getting better at working them out.
Prep is easy – Print, cut up and play. The dice will need to be folded and glued.
Students love learning in fun ways and these games will help to practice their maths skills so that these become easier and quicker. They will make connections through a shared fun learning experience and increase their mathematical skills in the process – a win-win situation
