Lesson for T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for outcome 1.1:
1.1 Students must understand the roles, responsibilities, enforcement, penalties
for non-compliance and required documentation for current health and safety
legislation and regulations that apply to design, surveying and planning for
construction.

1.1.1 The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act, the role of the Health and
Safety Executive (HSE) and the penalties the HSE can impose for
non-compliance with legislation.
1.1.2 The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
Regulations, the types of substance that are hazardous to health
and the types of exposure and control measures that can be used to
reduce risks.
1.1.3 The Work at Height Regulations, planning activities, equipment and
PPE requirements.
1.1.4 The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, the
production of pre-construction information, construction phase
safety plans and contents of a health and safety file.
1.1.5 The Welfare at Work Regulations relevant to construction projects.
1.1.6 The Manual Handling Operations Regulations, the requirement to
avoid hazardous manual handling where reasonably practicable and
the use of lifting assessments and machinery or mechanical aids.
1.1.7 The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and risk
assessment requirements under Regulation 3 of the legislation.
