Taylor Swift Inspired Poetry Unit- KS3

This is a KS3 targeted poetry unit of work- targeted at covering all of the basics that students need to know before they begin exploring poetry. I created this for my private tutoring. I use the acronym of T.S.W.I.F.T: Tone, Structure, Word Choice, Imagery, Figurative Language and Theme and focus on one aspect per session. I use a wide variety of poems to help the student understand each poetry tool to a greater depth.

Alongside this ppt, I chose a Taylor Swift song that we would analyse using our new poetry tool. I used Getaway Car but it is entirely up to you which one you think would be suitable for your class or student.
