I knew nothing about cyber security (except that it's important!) but this has been the perfect tool to get an intro to the topic alongside my students! The free challenges in Intern base are a great way to get students hooked on the idea that proper cyber security work requires the same basic skills as solving puzzles, and the premium content that you can unlock by buying a license has an amazing range of themes and difficulty, so students can work through it at their own pace depending on their interest and ability level. Highly recommened as fun and interactive way to introduce this crucial subject area to teenagers. It's also a great way to get them thinking ahead to career options too - there are loads of very well-paid jobs available for students that uncover a hidden talent in this area!
As a TA I think cyberstart could be great for my ks4 IT students, it will save me and my teacher loads of time creating our own computer simulations and the cyber topics look very diverse. We'll sign up for the 12 free challenges and then I can see which students really thrive using it before we choose how many licences we need for a club beyond science week.
This platform is really fun and interactive! It encourages problem-solving and provides hands-on experience of computer science and cyber security, something my students were missing until now.
