This is a great set of resources about the Fall of Soviet Union. The ppt presentation is full of questions and class activities which are created for the book: ‘‘Communist States in 20th Century’’ (Hodder Education, endorsed for Edexcel, 2015).
There is also an activity to arrange the reasons of the fall into political, economic and social causes. This activity is not from the book: ‘‘Communist States in 20th Century’’, but my students find it very useful to use it along with the ppt presentation.
There is also (extension work) two articles to read and answer questions about.
It will definitely keep your History A-level class busy for two periods.

This is not compatible with the latest version of the "communist states" book, unfortunately. It looks good but I can't use it - none of the page numbers or activities match with what we're using (hodder, 2015). I have no wish to criticise what I'm sure is very useful to someone with the correct book, but I cannot use this.
