The Great Debaters Movie Guide | Questions | Worksheet (PG13 - 2007) challenges student to analyze this powerful movie about persistence, logic and the fight for equality. Ask students to think like a debater and find the fallacies in some of the arguments used during the film. Explore whether or not students think Mr. Tolson was a communist since he declined to confirm or deny it by thinking critically about what a communist believes and does and comparing it to Mr. Tolson’s ideas and behavior in the film.

This resource consists of 13 high-level, short answer reflection and essay questions that will do more than just ask your students to regurgitate information.
