Two full lessons; one on Time of Death and one on Pathology. These lessons focus on the ecology of decomposition and testing methodology. Human remains are not featured in these lessons. Extension questions are included on the slides and there is a pick and mix of different tasks to select from for your students. Follows the Activate 3 KS3 course.

Time of Death

In this lesson pupils will describe how forensic scientists work out time of death, explain some complicating factors, look at the role of decomposition in ecosystems and factors affecting the rate of decomposition.
