This is a great resource that's like a game. The powerpoint shows the times table on a number stick. First, it gives children the strategies for working out the times table answers but then it shows how the children can learn to skip count the times table. My class enjoys shouting out the answers and it makes learning times tables a bit more fun than just rote learning.
The peer to peer quiz allows children to test each other to learn their times tables. One child reads the one side of the paper and says the answers to each calculation the other child reads the answers and says 'yes' each time they are correct or 'try again' if incorrect. When the children get more able they can time themselves to see if they can get quicker.
