Two dimensional transformations of shapes can be carried out using a 2 x 2 matrix. We used a triangle but it can be any shape. Rotations through 90 or 180 degrees, clockwise or anticlockwise; reflection along the x-axis, y-axis or 45 degree line can also be achieved by the matrix. It is interactive and for ease a list of transforming matrices are supplemented with this worksheet, so enjoy it.
