A 25 minute Tutor Time session created especially for LGBT+ Month to reduce transphobia and celebrate diversity (Feb 2019). This is the fifth of six sessions to be used throughout LGBT+ month, each focusing on and exploring the culture and history of a different aspect of the LGBTQAI community, from Lesbians (L) to Intersex (I).
The session contains three challenge learning outcomes, slides of easy to digest information, a clip task with differentiated questions, a quiz and final reflection task. The session is editable and been created to be perfect to just pick up and use.

Ten x fully resourced lessons on gender, sex and transgender identities and and one LGBT+ Month tutor time session, with differentiated worksheets and clips - suitable for KS3/4, all focusing on the gender, prejudice, sexual identity and transphobia and transgender issues. Could be used all together as part of a Drop Down Day, part of an RSE / PSHE Unit of work or over a week in Tutor Time. Pack includes: 1) An introduction into the fluidity of gender, the difference between sex and gender, as well as the prejudice faced by some of those in the LGBT+ community. 2) Sexism. Why does gender seem to matter so much to some in the workplace and at school? What issues do women in particular face, why is this and how can society overcome them? 3) What does it mean to be transgender? Who are the transgender role models and what can these people teach us about tolerance and gender fluidity? 4) LGBT+ Month session - trans identity focus. 5) What is the difference between sex and gender? What makes up our identity, our orientation and gender expression? What is the correct way to use the new terminology? 6) What is Feminism? What has the movement achieved for gender equality and do we still need it? 7) What is masculinity? What constitutes both toxic and positive masculinity? What effects do both of these have on males and wider society? 8) What is biological sex? What is gender and what are gender roles? An investigation into all these questions and more. 9) NEW - This lesson investigates the correct use of pronouns and also the rise of neo-pronouns. It invites students to make their own minds up about how useful neo-pronouns are and explains the correct use of pronouns for transgender people under the UK Equality Act, as a protected characteristic. It also talks about the use of pronouns and neo-pronouns between students, as well as how schools are advised by the government as of 2023 to handle changes in pronouns. 10) Gender stereotypes - what are these and why are they harmful?
