Tropical Cyclone Hazards

Pack includes a 24 slide PPT which covers cyclone formation.

I used this PPT in an A-Level class studying the Hazardous Environments topic, however this could easily be adapted for an IGCSE class studying tropical cyclones.

PPT includes:

• a description of where cyclones occur and form, including maps.
• an explanation of when cyclones occur and why
• an explanation of the conditions required for a cyclone to form
• an explanation of the process of cyclone formation, including diagrams
• an explantion of the structure of the cyclone, including the eye and eye wall
• the Simspon scale
• 3 task at the end of the PPT, including a diagram task and exam type question

There is enough material here for 1-2 class, and more task sheets could be generated using the material in the PPT.
