Weight: AQA Entry Level 1 Maths

These resources have been designed for students working towards the AQA Entry Level Certificate in Maths who are working at Entry Level 1. It contains an age-appropriate 28-page workbook and a 65-slide PowerPoint lesson on weight (Component 6 - Measure).

describe the weight of objects using the key words - heavy, heavier, heaviest, light, lighter, lightest
compare the weight of objects
apply knowledge of weight to solve real-life problems

PowerPoint Lesson

The editable PowerPoint lesson explains how to describe and compare objects in terms of weight. It provides many opportunities for pupils to practise these skills and to appply them to real life contexts. The PowerPoint contains links to two short videos on weight and example measures exam questions. It is ideal for introducing the weight component of the specification and for revision purposes.

Workbook

The 28-page workbook includes one information sheet, 23 worksheets, a progress check, a certificate of achievement and answers. The resource is available in PDF and an editable version to enable personalisation of the resource. The workbook is ideal for classwork, homework, revision or as an independent learning pack.
