Weight - Level 1 Functional Skills Maths

This resource has been designed for Entry Level 3 students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications at Level 1 (Edexcel-Pearson, NCFE, City and Guilds, AQA, Highfield Qualifications, NOCN, Open Awards). It contains a 30-page workbook and a 80-slide PowePoint lesson on weight.

These resources will help pupils to achieve these outcomes:

convert between units of weight - grams and kilograms
use knowledge of weight to solve real-life problems

Workbook

The workbook contains 7 explanation pages, 20 worksheets (with answers), 2 progress checks and a certificate of achievement. It is provided in PDF and an editable PowerPoint version. It can be used for classwork, homework, revision or as an independent learning pack.

PowerPoint Lesson

The editable PowerPoint lesson explains how to convert between grams and kilograms. It provides real-life examples and opportunities for pupils to practice their conversion skills. It also contains links to several videos on weight and example exam questions on measure. It is ideal for introducing pupils to the weight component of the specification and for revision purposes.
