Lessons 1 and 2 Week 1 of 2 weeks Reading and English unit based on Celia Godkin’s, When the Giant Stirred.

Week 1: Persuasive writing, holiday brochure
Week 2: Narrative writing - independent task

Children complete the tasks in their English books, planning and writing before the English task.

English
1 x English lesson
* Monday - Introduction paragraph and first two plot points, step by step with grammatical features
Could be split into multiple lessons - my class are used to the structure of the lesson now.

Reading
1 x Reading lesson
* Monday - demonstration comprehension about the setting.

Detailed Smart Notebook slides included and also uploaded in PowerPoint form (41 slides). I have exported the snb slides into ppt so they may need some tweaking to look the same.

Vocabulary book available - 18 high-order words from the book with word type, definition, synonyms, evidence from the book.

All resources and model writes included.

Suitable for Years 3 and 4.

Used book to go with Earthquakes and Volcanoes topic.
