A unit of work for year 5/6 on WW2. This unit of work is based around the enquiry question looking at children’s experiences. The ‘Big Question’ being - Did all children have similar experiences in WW2? Each lesson has a focus in helping to answer this question. Lesson 7 looks at the impact on the local area. For this planning that focus is on Southampton and that the docks were heavily bombed. This can be adapted for your own local area. The unit ends with children writing a final discussion piece regarding the big question concluding with their own opinion supported by the evidence captured during the learning journey.
