Y1 Summer Term – Block 1: Number: Multiplication & Division – Making Equal Groups

These activity sheets have been created to match the small steps on the White Rose maths schemes of work.

Year 1 Number – Multiplication and Division

• Solve one-step problems involving multiplication and division, by calculating the answer using concrete objects, pictorial representations and arrays with the support of the teacher.

Maths Focus
Children will make equal groups and complete statements such as ‘there are __ groups of ’ using pictorial representations.

Maths Mastery

• Children can identify whether groups are equal or not when the groups look different but have the same amount.
