A lesson I used in an observation which went well. Plan, resources and SMART Notebook file included.
Children learn to distinguish between an object and the material from which it is made, then classify objects. (You will need sorting hoops and objects for this.)
I’ve also included some odd one out activities to deepen understanding and a powerpoint file with 4 levels of difficulty. I opened the powerpoint on laptops. Children used the file in pairs by dragging different objects into the hoop to make their own collections of objects.
