This resource allows teachers to assess spelling in the context of sentences using words taken from the Year5 and Year 6 list of statutory spellings – Spring Term or Term Two. It includes a dictation worksheet with a list of the Year 5/6 Term Two statutory spellings, several dictation sentences - all of which contain the statutory spellings - and an editable PowerPoint presentation to introduce the task and to help teachers assess pupils’ spelling skills.

As with all our resources, the PowerPoint is fully editable, so sentences can be changed, differentiated or tweaked to suit your specific needs.
