This science lesson focuses on the Year 5 National Curriculum Science objective on friction and gives children practice in planning a fair test.

The resources include a ‘revisit’ activity to recap on prior forces learning and encourage recall (differentiated for less confident children) and a structured investigation planner for children who need support planning an investigation. There is also a paper-free home work task at the end of the lesson.

The resources are fully editable and there is lots of scope to easily tweak the content to focus on a range of different Working Scientifically objectives.

This is the fifth in a set of six lessons covering the Year 5 Forces topic (the whole unit can also be downloaded as a bundle from my shop for a much-reduced rate).
