This animated PowerPoint is a series of nature based number stories. (15 slides, 14 number stories) There is a script in the presentation which asks all the questions and indicates when to click to make the minibeasts appear or disappear. This is also a great way to introduce common animals and fits in with the national curriculum to "identify and name a variety of common animals".
Creatures/items included: beetles, earthworms, ladybirds, spider, bees, grasshoppers, butterflies, ants, pinecones, caterpillar eggs, earwigs, snails and woodlice (pill bugs) .
Extract from script:
Oh look what we’ve found, crawling around! Two beautiful, black beetles.
If one more came to join them, how many would there be?
(Wait for students to answer)
CLICK!
Yes, three!
To print the script go to View, NotesPage, File, Print.

Develop descriptive and creative writing by asking your students to look at the detailed work of Pieter Bruegel.
This resource includes a lesson plan, and within a presentation a fun starter activity which looks at Bruegels 'Netherlandish Proverbs'. The presentation then gives an example of how to fill in the worksheet.
The worksheet is a metacognition task which asks students to look at the artwork, write what they can see and then what they are 'thinking', 'wondering' or 'feeling'.
A selection of three Bruegel artworks are also within the PowerPoint ready to print of.
A great resource to get your students creatively writing.
To make it clear, this is not a presentation on Bruegel, I'm just using a PowerPoint to hold the activities. The PowerPoint is 6 slides long.
Slide 1: Starter Activity including some info on Bruegel.
Slide 2: A slide with animation that looks in detail at 'Netherlandish Proverbs'
Slide 3: A Bruegel artwork to use with the example worksheet to demonstrate what you would like students to do.
Slides 4 - 6 Artworks to print off.
Develop descriptive and creative writing by asking your students to look at the detailed work of Van Gogh.
This resource includes a lesson plan, and within a presentation an introduction to Van Gogh's work. The presentation then gives an example of how to fill in the worksheet.

A selection of four Van Gogh artworks are also within the PowerPoint ready to print off.

Just change the names within the slides of the PowerPoint to those in your class and then click anywhere around the word 'Random' to jump to a students name. The name bounces onto the screen!
A great fun way to choose students in your class.
As you can see from the previews it is visually appealing too.
It comes with clear instructions.
This can be updated and used year after year.
It is for up to 32 students.
You can change the word Random and it won't effect how it works!
Two differentiated worksheets that are fun and creative, and also reinforce symmetry.
The worksheet with the title 'Butterfly Art' is more detailed and therefore challenging. The one with no title is simpler.
I have had success asking students to draw lightly in pencil, then use pen, then colour.
This interactive PowerPoint generates a sum from the 2 and 5 times table every time you click within the circle. This allows you to choose a member from your class, click anywhere in the circle and a question will be revealed for that student.
e.g. 7 x 2 or 9 x 5 etc.
This is a great way to assess learning through questioning.
This interactive PowerPoint generates a sum from the 3 or 4 times table every time you click within the circle. This allows you to choose a member from your class, click anywhere in the circle and a question will be revealed for that student.

Teach your students the days of the week with the following activities.
There are four resources within this presentation!
1. Activity on slide 3.
Use as whole class work, where together you go through the days of the week, working on pronunciation. Each time you click the French word will appear next to the English. Initially you can click so they are reading it but then work up to clicking after they have said it. Stretch the more able: Invite students to have a go on their own in front of their peers if they feel confident enough. Alternatively pair a student with good pronunciation to work with a student with weaker pronunciation to work at the computer together.
2. Using slide 4
Matching activity. Print as many times as you wish, laminate, and create sets of cards for matching the English to the French.
3. Slides 5 – 11
This is an alternative activity where you show your students the French and they have to remember the English. At the press of a button the English flies onto the screen. This could also be printed as an alternative display.
4. Slides 13 – 19 A bright and colourful display for your classroom.
A metacognition worksheet that could be used for numerous projects. I have uploaded it in colour and black and white.
I have used this where they read a text and then fill this in.
I have also used this where they look at an artwork (I used a Bruegel which depicted a busy social scene) and then filled this in. This worked really well.
This interactive PowerPoint generates a sum from the 6 times table every time you click within the circle. This allows you to choose a member from your class, click anywhere in the circle and a question will be revealed for that student.
e.g. 5 x 6, 9 x 6 etc. and also 6 x 8 and 6 x 10.
There is then a 'back button' to return to the circle.
This is a great way to assess learning through questioning.
I have also used this as an extension activity with pairs of students working at the computer.
This interactive PowerPoint generates a sum from the 9 or 10 times tables every time you click within the circle. This allows you to choose a member from your class, click anywhere in the circle and a question will be revealed for that student.
There is then a 'back button' to return to the circle.
This is a great way to assess learning through questioning.
I have also used this as an extension activity with pairs of students working at the computer and testing each other.

A presentation to teach your class about the Compass. The presentation includes a script and includes 6 slides with information about:
What is a compass.
A compass card and magnetic north.
Rhymes to remember the points on a compass.
An optional slide about the magnetic poles and lines of magnetic force.
How they are still used today to read maps.
Teach all about the Compass with this 3D worksheet which makes a wonderful display. There are two versions - one for an 8 point compass and one for a 4 point compass. Both are available as a Word document and PDF.
There is a step by step guide on how to make it, which is very easy, and this has been uploaded as a PDF and as a PowerPoint.
Why not buy this as part of a bundle for only 99p more! You would get a presentation to teach your class about the compass where all the information to answer the questions on this leaflet is included. And more!!! Click on the bundle link to the right.
