A collection of worksheets based around the names of different musical instruments. A range of activities and skills included in the worksheets including: Wordsearch Times table problems Unscrambling words Solving riddles Matching activity Identifying instruments by their image Acrostic poems This worksheet collection could serve multiple lessons on musical instruments. Individual worksheets would work well as starter or plenary activities to either summarise learning, or remind students of what they learned previously, but they could also be used as consolidation activities within lessons after teaching. The worksheet collection could also be used as an independent / paired activity where children could receive all the sheets in a booklet and work through them at their own pace. Answers provided on separate sheets for all activities where appropriate.

Times Table Problem Solving sheet based around musical instruments. Simple times table sums using times tables up to and including 12x where each answer corresponds with a letter and the letters go together to spell out the names of different musical instruments. Eencourages children to apply their maths and times table knowledge whilst also learning and consolidating knowledge of musical instrument names. Two worksheets included with answers. Great as a starter or plenary activity.

There is extensive use of SFD throughout the presentation. Although the presentation is designed as a revision resource, that could be used as flashcards, it could also be used for teaching.

The style of such is that it could be printed out and converted into flashcards. Athough the resource is designed as a revision tool, it could also be used for teaching. This resource provides a comprehensive overview to some key areas of biopsychology, specifically the aspects of biopsychology required for A Level Psychology with AQA. Within this presentation, content is covered on: the nervous system, the endocrine system, synapses, neurons, ways of studying the brain, localisation of function, split-brain research, research into plasticity and functional recovery, circadian rhythms, infradian and ultradian rhythms, exogenous zeitgebers and endogenous pacemakers. For each theory or study, an account of the content is given with at least five points of evaluation for each. At the latter half of the presentation, a zoomed-in look at key studies and terminology is provided. The resource is designed to be used principally as a set of content flashcards, however, this resource could be used as a teaching presentation.

A collection of three worksheets designed to help students consolidate their knowledge of verbs. Worksheets include the following: A fill in the blank written activity where students are given a paragraph about different types of verbs and how to use them in writing but with some words missing. A definition task. ‘Spot the verbs’ reading activity. Passage of text given where students can read the text and highlight/underline/circle all the verbs they can spot. Written activity where students are given a basic verb like ‘walk’ and they are encouraged to write five more verbs that mean the same thing or use more interesting vocabulary. Worksheets are best used in conjunction with with the verbs presentation.

The presentation roughly follows this structure: Defining nouns Examples of nouns Introducing different types of nouns Defining different types of nouns with examples Talking activity Written activity Examples are interwoven throughout the presentation. Colour is used to provide a visual element to aid memory. Two tasks at the end of the presentation designed to consolidate knowledge. This presentation works well in conjunction with another resource ‘noun worksheet pack’. Without the tasks, the presentation would take approximately 5-10 minutes. Including the tasks, the presentation would take approximately 15 - 20 minutes.

An interactive lesson on adjectives for Upper Primary School years (Years 3/4/5/6) or (P4/5/6/7). Lesson comes in the form of a presentation but with opportunities for interaction / discussion / whiteboard work throughout. Lesson finishes with an application task. Content is structured as follows: Recap on what an adjective is Ways to expand adjective use - expanded vocabulary, rule of three, alliteration, position. Application activity. Application activity is to write a review for a recent holiday / favourite holiday destination using some of the techniques discussed in the lesson. Throughout the presentation there are smaller activities including discussion points / quizzes. The idea is that the lesson is scaffolded to fully prepare students to complete the final application task. Colour is used throughout to aid memory and learning of key terminology. The trumpet, trombone, French Horn, euphonium, baritone, and tuba are discussed in this lesson. The lesson is structured as a detailed presentation. Questions are asked throughout to help engage students’ attention and allow them to have an active part in their learning. Activities are also involved in the lesson to help students consolidate their knowledge. Activities include the following: mind map activity hot-seating/interview activity poster-making/ advertising activity written fact-file activity Creative design activity The presentation has 43 slides. Depending on the needs of the pupils and length of the lesson, this lesson could be broken-down into 2 or 3 separate lessons. If breaking the lesson into 2, I would recommend commencing lesson 2 from ‘comparing brass instruments’. If breaking the lesson down into 3 separate lessons, I would recommend commencing lesson 2 from the walk-through of individual brass instruments, and lesson 3 from ‘comparing brass instruments’. The following topic areas are covered in the lesson: recap of instrumental families, introduction to keyboard family and keyboard instruments, walk-through of individual keyboard instruments, activities. The piano and electric piano are discussed in this lesson. The lesson is structured as a detailed presentation. Questions are asked throughout to help engage students’ attention and allow them to have an active part in their learning. Activities are also involved in the lesson to help students consolidate their knowledge. Activities include the following: mind map activity poster-making/ advertising activity written fact-file activity creative design activity The presentation has 30 slides. For lower level students, it may be necessary to divide the lesson into 2 halves. If this is desirable, I would recommend ending the first lesson at the point where the electric piano walk through begins. Colour is used throughout to aid memory.
