KS2 Analogue to Digital Time puzzle worksheet (converting analogue time to 12 hour digital time) and answer key. This is a free sample from my fun, printable Hidden Word / Spot the Mistake Time puzzles pack. The full pack of 9 puzzles for various time concepts at Upper KS2 (Year 5 / Year 6) and Early KS3 revision is available here – ** Time Puzzle Worksheets**
The full pack also contains puzzles for telling the time to five minutes and nearest minute (analogue), converting between 12 and 24 hour time, converting between units of time (seconds, hours, minutes) and 12 hour time durations / time intervals.
An engaging alternative to standard worksheets, these no-prep puzzles make ideal warm ups, fast finisher activities or homework. They can be completed individually or in pairs / groups. They are similar to codebreaker puzzles, with a maths-related word to be revealed after the Time work has been completed. Each puzzle contains a grid. Pupils circle any boxes containing errors, then put together the letters from these boxes to reveal the hidden word.
Students often forget or avoid checking their own work for errors so it’s great to get them carefully checking in these puzzles. Spotting common errors may help them remember to check their own work and help them avoid common errors themselves.

Fun upper KS2 Mental Maths write and wipe self-check cards (and Year 7 too) for starter activities / warm ups, early finishers challenges, revision tasks, SATs preparation etc. There are 36 football themed spiral trails, designed to be printed and laminated and completed with dry-wipe pens. Calculations include: all four operations, negative numbers, fractions of quantities / amounts, decimals and percentages (including percentage increase and decrease). PDF format. Full answer versions included. Please check the preview to assess suitability.
SAVE as part of Maths and Literacy Meaningful Fillers BUNDLE
Each trail contains 10 calculations, which can mostly be calculated mentally.
Starting at the calculation to the right of the football, students write the answer to each calculation in the box, then use the answer in the next calculation, creating a running total as they follow the spiral
The spiral ends at the goal in the middle, where the answer to the final calculation is printed. Students can then see if they have completed the trail correctly. If not, they can check where they have gone wrong
Suits individuals, pairs or small groups
You could use it as a whole class starter, with students swapping after completion
You might want to print cards back to back with others to save on card and laminating
If required, print answer versions to use if students are struggling to spot where they’ve gone wrong. Alternatively, display on screen

Maths Hidden Word Puzzles MEGA BUNDLE
Designed for an Upper Key Stage 2 (KS2) Year 6 class but suitable for early KS3 Year 7 for revision, these 6 Speed, Distance and Time printable Four in a Row games (metric units) are fun alternative activities to additional textbook work on this maths topic, after pupils know the formulae D=SxT, S=D÷T and T=D÷S. ANSWER VERSIONS of all games are included. All games are in PDF format.
Contains a more simple (one star) and more challenging (two star) version for each of:
Distance Travelled
Average Speed
Time Taken
In addition to featuring generally more challenging calculations, the two-star versions of each require conversion between units in some cases.
Print and laminate the boards for regular use. I recommend printing boards in A3 if possible (or enlarging them to A3 on the copier) but A4 will be okay too. Pupils work as pairs against pairs or one against one to get four correct answers in a row - horizontally, vertically or diagonally. They roll a die each time to find which column to pick a calculation from (the columns are numbered 1-6). If there are no calculations left in the column whose number they have rolled, they either skip a go or roll again (depending on the rules you have chosen). Pupils write their answers on the board with a whiteboard marker. They could either use a different coloured pen to record answers on the board or add an initial or symbol if using the same coloured pen as their opponent.
I hope your students enjoy playing these games.

Similar to codebreaker puzzles, a Christmas-related word is revealed after completing mental arithmetic calculations. Each puzzle contains a grid. Within each box is a calculation and a letter. Pupils circle any boxes containing mistakes. Then they assemble letters from the circled boxes to reveal the Christmas word. Puzzles can be completed individually or in pairs / groups.
Pupils often forget or avoid checking their work for errors so it’s great to get them carefully checking in these puzzles. Spotting common errors may help them remember to check their own work and help them avoid common errors themselves.
Concepts include: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division, Times Tables, Doubling and Halving, Multiplying and Dividing by 10 and 100, Place Value, Negative Numbers, Fractions, Percentages and Decimals (Not all concepts feature in Set B).

Students circle any boxes containing errors. Then they assemble letters from the circled boxes to reveal the hidden maths word. Puzzles can be completed individually or in pairs / groups. (In the rounding puzzles students find the numbers that don’t round to specified target numbers and in some of the fractions puzzles, students must find non-equivalent fractions etc). In many puzzles there is an extension question / challenge linked to the hidden word, which in some cases may require a little research if time.
