This teaching resource explains the work of Dr Sheldon Turner who leads the GENIUS (Geo-Engineering Innovations through Undergraduate Scholarship) Program at Triton College in Illinois, USA, with the aim of making geoscience accessible to all.
This resource also contains an interview with Dr Turner.
The activity sheet provides ‘talking points’ (based on Bloom’s Taxonomy) to prompt students to reflect on Dr Turner’s work and a challenge to design a geoscience programme promoting diversity and inclusion in the field.
