Bronze: Find language features in the quotations
Silver: Match the quotations and context to themes
Gold: Work out the 10 quotations which can be adapted to suit the most themes.

Tier 1 difficulty (I do): Big idea, topic sentences and quotations are provided. Students add the analysis of the quotations.
Tier 2 difficulty (We do): Students must choose 2 quotations to support each topic sentence and analyse the quotations.
Tier 3 difficulty (You do): Students have to generate the big idea, the topic sentences, 2 quotations a paragraph and the quotation analysis.
104 PowerPoint slides containing annotations for the whole play - Macbeth. A great resource to accompany a reading of the play or to help students address gaps in their learning through absence. I originally created this resource to help some students who missed a large proportion of the curriculum due to absence.
Annotations are click activated so the teacher can talk through them one by one.
There are over 300 annotations covering every scene of the play. Obviously, I have prioritised the key moments from the key scenes for the most detailed annotations. The PowerPoint is fully editable so you can add extra annotations so you add, remove or change the amount of annotations to suit the ability of your students.
I have included a revision task sheet that encourages students to go through the PowerPoint and explain what is happening in each scene, explore the language in the key quotations and evaluate the thematic significance of the scene.

This lesson is repeatable in the run up to the exam to revise all 60 quotations and their various layers of meaning. I have also included an answer sheet on A3 paper with all the slides on one page.

Show students the 4 quotations and give them time to annotate them then reveal the teacher answers to compare.

PowerPoint revises 6 quotations for each of the following big ideas in the novel:

For each quotation, the inferences are written in short hand to help students make precise and concise notes.
They are animated so teachers can talk through them one by one to build up the layers of inference.
