Microbeads - reading comprehension
The government recently announced plans to ban the sale of products containing micro-beads. This reading comprehension resource supports a BBC News text which explains why the ban is to be introduced.
The resource contains 3 worksheets of questions, differentiated for use through KS1 and KS2. It could also be used to support readers in KS3 and supports aspects of learning in SMSC. Answers and ‘content domain’ references are included for each question.
Zika Virus Comprehension
The Zika virus has been one of the big stories of recent weeks, and has even been described as ‘the next ebola’. This reading comprehension uses a BBC Newsround report, explaining what the virus is and how it spreads.

All of our resources are matched to the expectations the SATs from 2016 onwards. The questions are therefore aimed at KS1, lower KS2 and upper KS2. References to the new ‘content domains’ are included for each question. .
