This is a selection of questions about density. The first section covers the use of the density formula with some guidance on how to use any 2 of the 3 values to calculate the third. There is then space for some revision/summary notes on this. The second section tests experimental techniques and includes some calculations based on the measurements made in the experiment. This is a selection of questions on density and pressure at a ks 3, common entrance level. It contains both calculations and questions about experiments into working out the pressure of a block, density of a block, density of a liquid and an irregular object. There is a harder public school scholarship question at the end. This resource is a word file and is editable.

This research lesson or home work is at a ks3 and common entrance level. Pupils will find out about different uses of satellites as well as some of the famous space craft in the history of space travel such as the Hubble space telescope and Apollo 11. There is also a question on low earth orbit and geostationary orbit. This a publisher file which is editable and a PDF.

This is for pupils looking at circuits around year 7. It is suitable for KS3 and ISEB common entrance. It reviews/introduces basic circuit symbols and then has different circuits to make to compare the brightness of bulbs. A great way to get the pupils making their circuits accurately. They are then asked to find out about series and parallel circuits and classify the circuits in the experiment into these two groups. After that there are a couple of questions about the advantages of parallel circuits over series circuits.

A introduction to AND and OR circuits suitable for KS3 and ISEB common entrance with the truth tables leading the pupils to understand the names of the two types of circuit. There is then a graduated differentiation task which is given on the third page of the file with walk, jog and run task based on truth tables. You can do this as an experimental activity or a thinking one!

With web site suggestions to assist the pupils this internet research task ask them to find out how the energy resource works, its advantages and disadvantages and make a power point to present to the rest of the class. This is appropriate for KS 3 and ISEB common entrance as well as grade 8.
