French verbs dominoes games: 3 games and challenges are a lively alternative to more traditional grammar & vocabulary ‘drilling’ activities. They will help students build up and embed their vocabulary and knowledge of common French verbs in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. There are 99 high-frequency French verbs in the infinitive form, along with the corresponding English verbs. Students can work happily challenging themselves and each other to create a perfect domino bilingual verb sequence, on the classroom floor, or on a long(ish) table, by matching the French and English verbs. The game has a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, and reading, and also helps students identify cognates and words that may look similar to English, but mean something different. There are three games, each with a different level of challenge: Challenge One features the verbs in alphabetical order, French to English Challenge Two features the verbs in random order, also French to English Challenge Three again features the verbs in random order, but this time from English to French, which works a little different in terms of vocab recall There’s a full alphabetical French-English verb list, which students find really useful as they begin to build and embed their verb vocabulary - we find it useful to have a quick look through the list prior to playing for the first time, and it’s also really good for some additional whole-group pronunciation practice. Each challenge is on a different background, so that they can be easily identified. To ensure successful learning, play regularly as you work with verbs and vocabulary - against a timer in teams works well to map both improved recall and word recognition, as well as increasing confidence - students genuinely enjoy seeing if they can beat their own time record. There’s definitely prep involved - printing and cutting out. I always laminate my dominoes games, as they’re far more learner-friendly, and they last for absolutely years, so once you’re prepped the set or several sets, you will never have to prep the games again. Dominoes games work really well in language learning as a free-choice activity - I have folders of resources for students to select their own activity, according to what they feel they would most like to revisit. We have free-choice activity time every few lessons for a half hour or so, which also provides a welcome break from the particular target focus. There’s definitely prep involved - printing and cutting out. I always laminate my dominoes games, as they’re far more learner-friendly, and they last for absolutely years, so once you’re prepped the set or several sets, you will never have to prep the games again. I've classed the resource as suitable for Years 9-13, but it really does depend on the age at which your students begin their French learning, as well as the level they are currently at – and aspire to. They are definitely one for the visual and/or kinaesthetic learner. The dominoes do take a bit of prep - printing & laminating. Laminating is certainly worth the effort and expense, as you will be able to re-use the cards for many Christmastimes to come. The resource comprises a single pdf file. SPANISH VOCABULARY CHRISTMAS GAMES CARDS & QUIZZES

(2)
KS3 CHRISTMAS PRIMARY SPANISH VOCABULARY CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES TWO SETS @ £1.80 EACH IN THE BUNDLE 396 BEGINNER SPANISH & ENGLISH VOCABULARY CARDS, 198 WORDS & PHRASES WITH TWO MULTI-SKILL 60-QUESTION QUIZZES I think that lessons in the run-up to Christmas provide the perfect opportunity to revisit language we’ve learnt earlier in the school year - my beginner Spanish students really enjoy going back over and consolidating the vocab that they were introduced to right at the beginning of their learning. I created various sets of Christmas-themed vocab cards to get them feeling festive - it definitely works! I tend to have several sets all ready, and keep them in learning folders, so that students can choose which vocab groups they want to work on, though often they like to work with the complete set, so it’s a good idea to have a couple of sets so that there are enough to go round. The Santa cards have vocabulary in the following word groups: = Los saludos = Los días de la semana = Los meses del año = Las cuatro estaciones del año = Los números 0 a 31 = Los colores = Los países del mundo The Snowmen cards have vocabulary in the following word groups: = Los animales (indefinite article, all singular) = Las partes del cuerpo (definite article, range of singular and plural) = El tiempo = Las frutas y verduras (definite article) = Las asignaturas (definite article) My students really like to learn independently, and I’ve described a range of games that they particularly enjoy. They love the competitive element of the whole-group quizzes, though the pdf version works really well too for small groups - and if you’re homeschooling. There are a lot of cards, which means quite a bit of prep - if you can, laminate them, not only because they’re far better to learn with, but also because you’ll be able to use them over and over again for years! The quizzes are no-prep, and good to go - they’re non-editable, because of the Terms of Use of the clipart and fonts I’ve used, so have a quick look through before you play - the whole-group version moves forward with a single click. The Santas and Snowmen are also available separately, priced at £3 each. Files are non-editable in a zipped format. The product is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y FELIZ NAVIDAD!

PRIMARY GERMAN KS3 GERMAN CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES BEGINNER GERMAN VOCABULARY CARDS & QUIZ featuring 99 beginner German words and phrases, 198 matching German and English snowman cards and whole-group multi-skill vocabulary quiz with 60 questions Files are non-editable in a zipped format. The resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. The Christmas-theme cards work really well for revision and practice - my students find the snowman cards fun and motivating! There are 198 matching German and English vocabulary cards, which is definitely quite a bit of prep. I always laminate my vocabulary cards, they are far more learner-friendly, and last for absolutely years, so it’s worth the extra prep time and expense. There a lots of different games students can play entirely independently, and I’ve outlined a selection that work well for us. My students really like to work together, in pairs or in small groups, moving away from more teacher-led activities. The games enable them to practice and consolidate their key beginner German vocabulary in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, and they really do create a lively language learning environment. Students can have either an entire set, depending on the size of their learning group, or particular collections of cards, according to the vocabulary theme. I’ve described the set as not grade-specific, because the content depends on the particular learning stage your students have reached, or are working towards. The vocabulary in this set focuses on: die Tiere (indefinite article, all singular) die Körperteile (definite article, range of singular and plural) das Wetter Obst und Gemüse (definite article) die Schulfächer (definite article) The set comprises: 198 matching German and English snowman cards, each with a particular word or phrase from the above vocabulary groups 60-question whole-group multi-skill quiz, with a range of questions such as Wie sagt man … auf Englisch? Wie schreibt man … auf Deutsch? The quiz is a non-editable presentation file for copyright reasons, and moves on to the next question with a click. Have a look through it first before you play the quiz with your students, so that you can prepare any additional questions or dialogue you think would work well for them Have a browse in my store for more German Christmas activities, and a wide range of other German teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles & resource boxes, and lots of freebies. GEOGRAPHY EUROPE COUNTRY CARDS

(2)
KS3 GEOGRAPHY KS4 EUROPE COUNTRIES, CAPITAL CITIES & FLAGS GAMES CARDS perfect for developing knowledge and locational understanding of Europe the game cards provide great learning opportunities for any appropriate age group, at any time of the school year! Students can develop their knowledge of the geography of Europe in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. There are 60 flag cards, and 60 country with capital city cards, featuring all European countries, capital cities and flags. There may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, so the games help them fully develop their general awareness, knowledge and understanding of Europe. I’ve also included a range of islands, such as the Faroe Islands, to extend students’ knowledge of Europe a little further, as well as several countries, for example Armenia, that are often classed as belonging either to Europe or to Asia. Great as a regular starter, refresher or plenary activity at any time of the school to really embed knowledge, as well as being a core learning resource when introducing Europe - playing in teams against a timer is really popular - students love to see if they can beat their own time record. There is a country, capital city and flag reference list of all countries and capitals, which students find useful to read through before playing - allow them only 60 seconds on a timer to really focus their reading and increase the sense of competition if you are playing competitive team games! It can also be used as a year-round reference resource, which students can file in their workbooks or learning folders. There is also a full set of country and capital labels - labeling the flags with their respective countries and capitals is a really good way of consolidating learning. Laminate the cards, labels and reference sheets if you can - it’s definitely a lot of prep, but it’s well worth it, as not only are the materials far more learner-friendly, they also last for absolutely years. NUMBERS 0-20 ADDITION & SUBTRACTION CARDS

(1)
**MATHS FOR EARLY YEARS - ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION NUMBERS 0-20 GAMES CARDS - PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING NUMERACY SKILLS - 72 CALCULATIONS ** MONSTER MATHS MATCHING GAME CARDS are perfect for practising addition and subtraction, focusing on numbers up to 20. Children can work together or alone, challenging each other and themselves to calculate correctly in order to find the right answer. The monster theme is really popular with children too, and the physical nature of the games is effective for all learners, particularly those who tend to favour kinaesthetic learning activities. I’ve found that the games work particularly well for small group and intervention or additional support work. They’re perfect for rainy day games both at school and at home too! Children enjoy working both at their own pace, and also sometimes with a little competitive edge in teams, using a timer to really challenge themselves - can they beat their own time record? Revisit regularly to map both improved number recognition and calculation skill, as well as increasing confidence. The question cards are numbered, which helps children track their responses when they refer to the answer key. Having access to the answer key helps facilitate both self– and peer assessment in the matching game, and enables children to become a little more independent in their learning. They can easily identify which questions and responses are either addition or subtraction by looking for the +/- sign, and also the position of the monster on the card. Laminate the cards and answer keys if you can - you’ll be able to use them for years to come! I’ve included both a colour and a B&W version of the cards and answer keys, which is helpful if you need to keep prep costs down. This resource consists of four non-editable files in a zipped format. Please read the Terms of Use carefully - this resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed in any way. GERMAN NUMBERS 0-31 I HAVE WHO HAS FREEBIE

(13)
PRIMARY GERMAN KS3 GERMAN NUMBERS GAMES ACTIVITIES German Numbers 0-31 I have, Who has… ? This is a whole-group lively & communicative language learning game, perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing how to count from 0 - 31 in German. The game has a***multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading out loud***, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too. The aim of the game is to create a German number chain as quickly as possible, starting with the first card null, and ending with the final card, einunddreißig. The game works just as well if the number sequence is placed on the floor, a longish table, or other flat surface. I created the game for my young beginner German learners, but I’ve also played the game with my adult German learners, who really enjoy it too. The design is four cards per page, which allows for a large font - this is really important for beginner language learners who are starting to familiarize themselves with the written word, and how to link sound with spelling. Try to print in colour if you can - it adds to the visual appeal of the game, which is a real motivator for learning - and the monster theme is popular with all ages and grades! Download, print out, laminate, cut out & shuffle the cards. I’d definitely recommend you laminate the cards, despite the extra prep and expense. They’re far more learner-friendly, and they will last for absolutely years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - students really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little harder on their concentration, pronunciation and reading out loud skills. Students walk around the room, talking to each other in their best German accent, sharing the information on their cards, until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order. The game works best played against a timer, regularly over a longer-term series of lessons - can students beat beat their own time record? I always do some high-speed counting warm-up activities, forwards & backwards, to get everyone ready to play! Have a browse in my store for more German active learning activities, and a wide range of other German teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resources boxes, and lots of freebies too! I’d definitely recommend you laminate the cards, despite the extra prep and expense. They’re far more learner-friendly, and they will last for absolutely years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - students really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little bit harder on their concentration and pronunciation. Students walk around the room, talking to each other in their best French accent, sharing the information on their cards, until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order. The game works best played against a timer, regularly over a longer-term series of lessons - can students beat beat their own time record? I always do some high-speed counting warm-up activities, forwards & backwards, to get everyone ready to play!
