EFL ESL ENGLISH NUMBERS 0-100 LIST Create an instant reference resource for students focusing on high-frequency beginner English vocabulary. I’ve found that these kinds of reference lists are a really successful learning support resource, and are really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. I designed this specifically for my young and/or beginning learners of English, and it’s suitable for a range of ages and learning stages.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - England flag, which I often use for display in the EFL ESL ELL classroom, or black wave. The numbers are written across single page in landscape format - I use this for more experienced English learners, who are a little more comfortable with reading in***English***- the font is fairly small.

ESL EFL ENGLISH VERBS LIST reference resource for students focusing on high-frequency English verbs. I’ve found that the lists are a great learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class.
This list is a collection of 100 high-frequency and common English verbs that students generally need in the advanced beginning to intermediate stages of their English Language learning programmes. It includes regular and irregular verbs, with some modals. They are all in the infinitive form - it’s an important step in learning is to ensure that students quickly develop a useful vocabulary bank, are able to recognize English verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs - at that point we can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning the verbs all at once though - this is more of a longer-term reference resource that students can use to audit their developing English verb vocabulary.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - England flag (which I tend to use as part of a grammar display), and black wave - students tell me that this makes vocab lists more visually appealing, which is really useful when they’ve got a lot of vocab to work through and learn.

PRIMARY LATIN KS3 LATIN NUMBERS ROMAN NUMERALS 0-20 A great instant reference resource for students focusing on beginner Latin vocabulary. I’ve found that the lists are a great learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. We use our reference lists to help students audit their developing beginner Latin vocabulary. They’re useful printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. Numbers and Roman Numerals definitely provide lots of ***opportunities for cross-curricular learnin***g in class time, particularly with mental maths games, which really helps beginner Latin learners get to grips with the target vocabulary.
There are two backgrounds to choose from: colour or black wave - I use the colour background for Latin vocabulary display, and I find that the wave background adds a ***visual appea***l to the vocabulary list, which can be a real motivator for learning, particularly when students have a lot of vocabulary to learn.

KS3 GERMAN PRIMARY GERMAN KS4 GERMAN GREETINGS BUNTING BANNERS It’s great to create a new look for the new school year - I use bunting/banners not only to create a real German look and feel in the learning environment, but also to promote everyday language and core vocabulary for learners of all ages. Bunting works well throughout the entire school year, but definitely has a celebratory back to school feel! The bunting has a small tag that you can clip to a line of string across the room (like a washing line!), or to a wall.

GCSE GERMAN DOMINOES GAMES High-frequency German verbs dominoes games: 3 games and challenges are a lively alternative to more traditional grammar & vocabulary ‘drilling’ activities. They will help students build up and embed their vocabulary and knowledge of high-frequency German verbs in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. There are 99 common German verbs in the infinitive form, along with the corresponding English verbs. Students can work happily challenging themselves and each other to create a perfect domino bilingual verb sequence, on the classroom floor, or on a long(ish) table, by matching the German and English verbs. The game has a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, and reading, and also helps students identify cognates and words that may look similar to English, but mean something different.
There are three games, each with a different level of challenge:
Challenge One features the verbs in alphabetical order, German to English
Challenge Two features the verbs in random order, also German to English
Challenge Three again features the verbs in random order, but this time from English to German, which works a little different in terms of vocab recall
There’s a full alphabetical German-English verb list, which students find really useful as they begin to build and embed their verb vocabulary - we find it useful to have a quick look through the list prior to playing for the first time, and it’s also really good for some additional whole-group pronunciation practice. Each challenge is on a different background, so that they can be easily identified.
To ensure successful learning, play regularly as you work with verbs and vocabulary - against a timer in teams works well to map both improved recall and word recognition, as well as increasing confidence - students genuinely enjoy seeing if they can beat their own time record. Dominoes games work really well in language learning as a free-choice activity - I have folders of resources for students to select their own activity, according to what they feel they would most like to revisit. We have free-choice activity time every few lessons for a half hour or so, which also provides a welcome break from the particular target focus.
There’s definitely prep involved - printing and cutting out. I always laminate my dominoes games, as they’re far more learner-friendly, and they last for absolutely years, so once you’re prepped the set or several sets, you will never have to prep the games again.

GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE FREE SAMPLER I’ve created a lot of ‘quick conjugation workbooks’ for my students and they’re really popular and effective. They’re a great way of practising, reinforcing and revising how to conjugate all the various verb groups, tenses and moods in Italian. I use them in a range of learning contexts such as independent work either in class time or at home, holiday refresher work, or individual activities for cover lessons. Students really benefit from several opportunities to work through the workbooks, once or twice a term across a whole school year is a great way of both mapping progress and developing overall understanding and competence.
The workbooks focus on specific 25 essential Italian verbs in a range of tenses. They include modals, regular, and irregular verbs. Each workbook is structured as follows:
Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian : English and English : Italian
Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations:
Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation.
Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Italian, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation.
Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Italian verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt.
Notes and Next Steps sheet, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of Italian conjugation works, what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets.

PRIMARY ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN DAYS OF THE WEEK WORD SEARCH Word searches are a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word in Italian, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This freebie features a word search focusing on the days of the week in Italian, key beginner vocabulary for Italian learners.
This search grid is***Italian to English***, where learners are prompted with the Italian words, and look for them in Italian in the grid. For additional consolidation, the grid also features an English word list that they have to complete, really putting students’ knowledge to the test! Students can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. Having a good bilingual dictionary to hand is also a good idea, as this provides a further focus on developing literacy in both Italian and English, and facilitates learner independence.
There is an answer grid for the word search, so that students can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. Answer keys also provide students with an additional opportunity to engage with language, and they’re a great teacher time-saver too, which is always a good thing! The word search is in landscape format, as I’ve found this to be the best format for English-speaking beginner learners of Italian, as it mirrors the common direction of reading from left to right. This kind of activity is really versatile too, I use them as starters, refreshers, plenaries or fun-time fillers at any time during the school year, as well as when I’m introducing days of the week in Italian.

PRIMARY ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN VOCABULARY DAYS, MONTHS, SEASONS I create a lot of essential vocab lists for my language students, as they find them really useful, both in the classroom and at home. The lists work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Italian flag, which I tend to use for target vocabulary display, or black wave. I use a background for vocabulary lists quite a lot, because it does make them more visually appealing, which is really important for language learners who do have a lot of vocabulary to learn.

PRIMARY FRENCH ANIMALS BINGO 120 DIFFERENTIATED BINGO GRIDS WITH SILENT BINGO CALLING - IDEAL FOR HIGH SCHOOL BEGINNER FRENCH TOO!
I created these differentiated Primary French animals bingo games, building in a range of challenges, to help my students engage happily with their French. They’re also really useful for a focus on definite article and gender. The game isn’t actually about learning all the animals - 20 is too many in ‘one go’ - select your core vocab, with the additional animals useful for quick recall practice.
There are 20 animals:
the mouse
the horse
the dog
the cat
the crocodile
the bird
the fish
the frog
the pig
the cow
the tortoise/turtle
the tiger
the elephant
the giraffe
the lion
the rabbit
the monkey

the zebra
There are 21 non-editable files: 40 picture-only bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages), in both colour and B&W. There are also 40 French word-only bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages). For additional challenge there are 40 English word-only bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages) - this is a great way of consolidating vocab too. My students like to create their own word or picture grids for each other, so I’ve also included 4 12-square grid templates.
I developed SILENT BINGO to provide my students with an alternative way of practising their vocab and general language skills - select a grid type for students - picture-only, French word or English word. Using the SILENT BINGO files, show each slide at varying speeds. Students cross off the corresponding word or picture. PRIMARY LATIN NUMBERS ROMAN NUMERALS 1-20 POSTERS FLASHCARDS My young Latin learners love the colourful display, which give the classroom a great Latin look and feel. Giving your learning environment a Latin ’look’ also promotes Latin as a ’real’ language, featuring in the everyday life of the students. We use them for counting, spelling and memory games too. They're also ideal as flashcards, and I often use them to introduce and practise language, particularly with smaller groups, as I don't like to use the whiteboard all the time. Using flashcards to introduce and practise language is a really successful directed teaching and learning activity.
I like to vary the words for Latin numbers with Roman Numerals - it's a fantastic way of developing both language and numeracy skills in general. The flashcards/posters introduce learners to Numbers 1-20 & Roman Numerals in Latin from the very beginning of their learning, and they are able to familiarise themselves with both the ‘look’ of Latin words, and how they are represented in the written form. Additionally, they provide an opportunity to create some great cross-curricular activities with maths! I’ve used some generic images, and well as some with a classical civilisation feel, which we use to discuss both Roman and Greek civilisation. There are two backgrounds to choose from: colour or black wave. Laminate and/or print on card stock - the posters will last for years, and they're definitely easier to manipulate as flashcards.

PRIMARY SPANISH KS3 SPANISH KS2 SPANISH COLOURS FLASHCARDS POSTERS Los colores en español - 8 posters / flashcards These four my favourite colour posters make an ideal speaking prompt in the Spanish classroom - I encourage children to ask each other ¿Cuál es tu color favorito? as a lesson starter / warm-up, and to select a different colour every time they answer. As they learn more colours, their answers become more varied. I tend to introduce the plural form with the connective y (and) quite quickly, so that students can extend their answers as much as they possibly can - they have great fun seeing who knows the most colours, and can create the longest answers.
The key colours are: blue, green, pink and yellow. There are two backgrounds to choose from - either the Spanish flag, or black wave. Laminate the posters if possible, or print on card stock, particularly if you’re going to use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too: they’ll hang really nicely, stay in good shape, and you’ll be able to use the posters for many years to come!
Use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating.
It doesn’t matter if this particular language doesn’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the flashcards / posters provide learners with daily opportunities to engage with the written word in Spanish, to develop their recognition and recall of individual words, to identify cognates, and to begin to link spelling with sound in Spanish.
Have a browse in my store for more Spanish flashcards / posters, and a wide range of other teaching and learning resources, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too!

I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of Spanish, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell time. Children glue the lists into their Spanish vocabulary books, or file them in their Spanish vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful Spanish vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning.
For young and / or beginner Spanish learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows half past the hour on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to Spanish prefer this. When I’m sure that students are confident with a particular time set, I then move on to additional time sets.
There are two backgrounds to choose from - Spanish flag, which I use for Spanish vocabulary display, or plain.
